Mandy and Martin chose the iconic Normanton Church at Rutland Water for a ceremony that was as heartfelt as it was unforgettable. The wind had its own plans, but the blustery weather only added drama to the skies and movement to Mandy’s dress proof that great storytelling doesn’t need sunshine to sparkle.
With around 30 of their closest family and friends, the couple opted for my Ceremony package which is perfect for pairs who want the key moments beautifully captured without full-day coverage. The registrar-led service included a moving candle-lighting ritual. First, the groom’s dad and the bride’s mum lit the single candles; then Mandy and Martin lifted them together to light the unity candle. For a split second, it felt like the soundtrack might switch to the Spice Girls “2 Become 1” drifting through the air because the atmosphere truly said it all.
After their short and sweet vows, we braved the breeze for a relaxed portrait session along the water’s edge. The sweeping views, soft light between gusts, and the church’s exquisite architecture created a timeless backdrop - everything that makes Normanton Church weddings so sought after. Candid hugs, windswept laughter, and those just-married glances gave us a gallery full of genuine emotion.
