When looking for the perfect wedding photographer you want to make sure that you choose the best one for you. Organising an engagement photo session is a great idea to do just that. It is the best time to get to know each other and make sure you "click" as well as explain what sort of photographs you expect on the Big Day. Personally, for me, it is the best time to get to know you better and see how you behave in front of the camera. To me the point of this session is to reflect you and your personalities. If you have children and would like to involve them in the photo shoot then do it. Are you dog lovers? Bring your pooch with you and let’s create some beautiful photos!
How does the session work?
This photo session is basically a portrait photo shoot with emphasis on the engagement theme. It is designed to celebrate your engagement and bring out the excitement for your upcoming Big Day. First, we will discuss where and when you would like the session to take place. This really is your decision to make as the place we choose could be where you got engaged or maybe where you first met, it may also be as simple as going for a walk in the woods. The world is your oyster. The time of the session is important as it will reflect the mood of your photos. My personal favourite would be the so-called "golden hour". Late afternoon falling into evening time when the sun is just about to set creates a beautiful, warm and golden light. So if you have seen brown, golden and dreamy like images on Pinterest, well it is very possible that they were taken during golden hour. If the session is to take place in the city you may need to consider doing it early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
What else do we need to know?
What should we wear?
Many couples ask about clothing and what they should wear. I often advise comfortable smart-casual clothing. Jeans and a shirt always works great as long as your partner will wear a matching outfit. Unless you are an outgoing "rebel" type of couple definitely avoid bold patterns! Solid colours are always a good call.
What if it rains?
Weather is so unpredictable and I wouldn't expect you to go out there and start dancing in the rain so I am always happy to reschedule our session for another day. Please bear in mind that if you need to reschedule as you are no longer able to make it to the session, a reschedule fee may apply.
Can this session be used to create photos for our thank you cards?
Of course. I am more than happy to take a few extra photos and it will not cost you a penny.
TOTAL COST: £150
