My fiance is Chandler Bing!

My fiance is Chandler Bing!

The first meeting

When I met Vicky and Andrew I remember we laughed a lot and got on really well from the start. Halfway through our first conversation, Vicky dropped a bomb. “Andrew is a bit like Chandler from Friends” and as a fan of the series I laughed, but I knew this might be a challenge. What if he really is as bad as Mr Bing? To me, this first contact with the couple is the most important. Before their Big Day we stayed in touch and talked about the wedding. I went to see the venue with them and finally we agreed on all the details. We were ready to roll.

Arriving at the venue

They chose Sharnbrook Hotel in Bedfordshire as their wedding venue. I went to meet with the bride and started the day with the bridal preparation session. As I entered the room I smiled. Why? Because there was plenty of light coming from the windows and because I love the vintage style. Vicky and her mum were working on their hair and make-up, so I swiftly cracked on with getting the photos of the dress and shoes. Some time later the bridesmaids arrived. The atmosphere was getting funnier and funnier. As this is an example of a real wedding, how about a few photos to show you the beginning of the day?

Getting ready for the ceremony

When I went downstairs I found Andrew in the hallway sorting out his tie. That was the moment of truth and I wanted to find out if he really was Mr Bing. By the time I took a series of photos, Andrew was pretty much used to me. He did not let the Chandler inside of him come out! But he was nervous, which is nothing unusual since it was one of the biggest days of his life! To make sure all goes according to plan, Vicky made the spreadsheet. Everyone involved in the wedding had one. You can see the boys were impressed with it too… After all the guests arrived at the venue it was time for the ceremony to begin. And it was a very touching one. Take a look at some real life wedding photos.

“Just the formals and we are nearly there! Ha! Ha!”

So many brides and grooms are nervous about the formal session. I think it is always down to your photographer, hence I prefer to direct the couple, not pose them. I am there to make sure they are comfortable therefore happier and less awkward. Vicky was probably one of the easiest brides to work with. She was naturally getting the pose I directed her into. I think she did a lot of “pinteresting“. The energy between Vicky and Andrew was amazing. Their looks and being so comfortable with each other definitely made it a great session. It always helps when the weather is on our side and considering it was beginning of April, we were very lucky! The real wedding photos below are a proof to that.

Eat, drink and be married!

The young couple can finally relax and sit down to a well deserved meal. The bridal party and the guests can chill out. Everyone is waiting for the speeches and that is why this is my favorite part of the day. As always the dad and the best man come up with the best anecdotes about the bride and the groom, and there was a twist as well! The four bridesmaids made their own speech. Something different and unusual is never dull or boring. They made the whole room cry laughing. Their stories and photos they shared about their best friend were fantastic.
After the meal and speeches the staff of Sharnbrook Hotel swiftly cleared up the tables and made room for the dance floor. It was the time for the bride and groom to start their first dance. Have a look at some more real wedding examples.
